First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a two-part treatment for advanced gastrointestinal cancer: a personalized mRNA vaccine (XH001) plus immune cells trained to attack the cancer. The study will enroll 18 adults whose cancer has not responded to standard treatments. The main goal is to check safety and see if the combination can shrink tumors or help people live longer.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
personalized mRNA tumor vaccine (XH001) plus tumor-specific T-cells
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with advanced gastrointestinal cancer who have run out of standard options.
What could go wrong
This is a very early (Phase 1) and small (18 people) trial focused on safety, not yet proof of effectiveness. The treatment is complex and may cause side effects or not shrink tumors.
