First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a short writing therapy called Written Exposure Therapy (WET) can help people with both PTSD and substance use disorders who are in residential treatment. About 108 participants will either do WET or neutral writing alongside their usual care. Researchers will measure PTSD symptoms, substance use, and physical responses to trauma cues, and follow up at 1 and 3 months after treatment.
