Smart wristband tracks heart surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT03113565
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a simple electronic wristband could help doctors understand how patients recover after heart surgery. 137 adults wore the wristband for two months after leaving the hospital, and it counted their daily steps. The goal was to measure when patients returned to normal physical activity and to find early signs of problems. The study did not test a treatment, but rather gathered information to improve future care.
