Ultrasound reveals how hypermobile wrists change the median nerve

NCT ID NCT06918613

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study used ultrasound to compare how the median nerve changes shape in different wrist positions (neutral, bent, extended, and tilted) between people with generalized joint hypermobility and healthy individuals. 36 women participated. The goal was to understand if hypermobility makes the nerve more deformable, which could help explain wrist symptoms. This was an observational study, not a treatment trial.
