First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether simple online activities, like writing a gratitude letter, can improve well-being and reduce burnout in adults. 8,000 participants will try one or more of these tools and complete surveys over a year. The study is entirely online and has minimal risks, though there is no direct benefit guaranteed.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
online positive psychology tools (e.g., gratitude letter writing)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, free way to help people manage stress and burnout.
What could go wrong
This is a large but early-stage study with no control group, so results may be weak. The tools are brief and may not help everyone.
