Bread battle: can whole wheat tame your gut and blood sugar?
NCT ID NCT05318183
Summary
This study aims to understand why whole wheat bread helps lower blood sugar for some people with prediabetes but not others. Researchers are comparing the effects of eating whole wheat bread versus white bread for two weeks at a time in 65 adults with prediabetes. They will collect stool, blood, and urine samples to see how the breads affect gut bacteria, inflammation, and metabolism.
