Summary

This study tests whether giving ICU patients 0.5 liters of wheat beer each evening for 6 days can lower their risk of developing delirium, compared to patients who receive water. Delirium is a sudden confused state common in intensive care. The trial will include 380 adults who have a feeding tube and are expected to stay in the ICU for at least 24 hours.
