Summary

This study tested whether a weekly injection called semaglutide could help teenagers with overweight or obesity manage their weight. Over 200 teens received either the real medication or a placebo (dummy shot) for about 15 months, along with counseling on healthy eating and activity. The main goal was to see if the medication led to a greater reduction in body weight and BMI compared to the placebo.
