Do new weight loss drugs help bladder control? study compares pills to surgery

NCT ID NCT07175805

Summary

This study aims to understand how two major weight loss approaches—new medications like GLP-1 agonists and bariatric surgery—affect pelvic floor symptoms such as bladder leaks, urgency, and bowel control. It will follow 200 women with obesity who are starting either medication or surgery for weight loss. The goal is to see if both methods improve symptoms equally, or if one is better, to help guide future treatment recommendations.
