Finger-Prick test aims to better control blood thinners for frail elderly

Summary
This study tested if checking blood thinner levels with a weekly finger-prick device was better than the usual monthly blood draw for elderly nursing home residents. The goal was to keep medication levels in a safer range more often to prevent dangerous blood clots and bleeding. The trial involved 45 frail patients taking long-term blood thinners for conditions like atrial fibrillation.
