Summary

This study tested whether a web-based self-management program is feasible and acceptable for people with chronic pancreatitis who have ongoing abdominal pain. Thirty-one participants were given access to a tailored website with pain management modules over 12 weeks. The goal was to see if people would use the program and find it acceptable, not to measure pain relief directly.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
web-based self-management program
What this could lead to
If this approach works, it could offer a convenient, low-cost way for people with chronic pancreatitis to better manage their pain at home.
What could go wrong
This was a very small, early feasibility study with only 31 participants. It did not measure whether pain actually improved, so we cannot yet say if it truly helps.
