Wearable ECG beats standard test for hidden stroke risk

NCT ID NCT04624646

First seen May 20, 2026 ยท Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether wearable heart monitors can find hidden atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) in people who recently had a stroke. About 337 participants will use either a short-term continuous patch or a long-term intermittent device to see which detects more cases. Finding atrial fibrillation early can help doctors switch from aspirin to blood thinners, reducing the risk of another stroke.
