Summary

This study tested a program called Wakȟáŋyeža (Little Holy One) with 124 Native American caregivers and their 2-to-5-year-old children on a Northern Plains reservation. The program aimed to reduce trauma and stress in parents, improve parenting skills, and boost children's emotional health to lower their future risk of suicide and substance use. Results showed positive changes in caregiver trauma symptoms and parenting stress.
