First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at how the collection of bacteria, fungi, and viruses in the vagina changes in women who receive a stem cell transplant. Researchers want to learn why some women develop a painful condition called vulvovaginal graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). About 40 women will answer symptom questionnaires and provide vaginal samples before transplant and again at 6 and 12 months after. No new treatments are tested; the goal is to gather information to improve future diagnosis and care.
