VR goggles vs sedative: new study tests ways to calm moms in surgery

NCT ID NCT07343843

Summary

This study is testing two different ways to help mothers feel less anxious and stressed during a planned cesarean section. It will compare a sedative medicine given through an IV with a non-drug approach using virtual reality (VR) goggles. Researchers will measure the mothers' anxiety, stress, and vital signs, and also check on the health of their newborns.
