Virtual reality reveals Parkinson's brain secrets

NCT ID NCT05103384

Summary

This study used virtual reality to safely trigger freezing episodes in people with Parkinson's disease who have deep brain stimulators. While participants walked through VR environments, researchers recorded their brain signals to understand what happens in the brain during freezing. The goal was to gather knowledge that could eventually help improve treatments for this common and disabling symptom.
