First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether virtual reality (VR) training helps parents of premature babies learn how to care for them in the NICU. Sixty parents will be randomly assigned to either VR-enhanced education or standard teaching. Researchers will measure if VR improves parents' caregiving skills, knowledge, and confidence.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Virtual reality-enhanced parent education
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a more effective way to teach parents how to care for their babies in the NICU.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with only 60 participants, so results may not apply to all parents. VR may cause discomfort or not improve skills significantly.
