NCT ID NCT07447830
First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a virtual reality headset showing calming scenes (like puppies in a meadow) can reduce pain and discomfort for older adults in long-term care during wound dressing changes. About 20 residents will use VR during routine wound care for two weeks, with pain and mood tracked before, during, and after. The goal is to see if this simple, drug-free distraction can make wound care less distressing.
