VR goggles used to distract patients from painful heart procedure

NCT ID NCT07360054

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) could help patients feel less pain and anxiety during the removal of a catheter from the groin after a heart imaging test. One hundred patients were randomly assigned to either use a VR headset during the procedure or receive standard care without it. Researchers measured pain, anxiety, and vital signs to see if the immersive VR experience provided a helpful distraction.
