Can playing a VR game make you tougher against pain?
NCT ID NCT05836649
Summary
This study looked at whether playing an active virtual reality (VR) game or just watching a passive VR experience changes how much heat or pressure pain healthy adults can handle. Researchers at Stanford University tested 265 healthy volunteers to see if the type of VR activity affects immediate pain tolerance and later memories of pain and anxiety. The goal was to better understand how to design VR tools that might help manage pain.
