First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether a virtual reality (VR) program called ReCognitionVR is safe and acceptable for older adults recovering from abdominal surgery. Thirty patients aged 60 and older used the VR software or received standard orientation methods. The goal was to see if VR could help prevent confusion (delirium) after surgery, and the results will guide future studies in critically ill patients.
