First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether watching nature videos through virtual reality goggles while listening to binaural beats (special drumbeat sounds) could help men feel less pain and anxiety during a cystoscopy, a procedure where a camera is inserted into the bladder. Sixty men were split into two groups: one received the VR and audio intervention, while the other had standard care. Results showed that those using VR and binaural beats reported lower pain and anxiety, and had more stable vital signs during the procedure.
