Brain scan study tests drug for dementia mood symptoms

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called vortioxetine can help improve mood symptoms like depression and anxiety, as well as thinking skills, in people with early-stage behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD). Researchers will give participants the drug for 12 weeks and use brain scans and memory tests to see if it helps. The goal is to see if this treatment can ease some of the difficult symptoms of this type of dementia.
