First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a 5-week eye movement training program using visual and sound feedback can help people with central vision loss use their peripheral vision better. About 12 participants with macular degeneration will do eye-tracking exercises while getting real-time cues. The goal is to improve reading, face recognition, and navigation, and to see if this training could eventually be done at home with virtual reality.
