NCT ID NCT02779855
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 10, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether injecting a modified cold sore virus directly into breast tumors could help chemotherapy work better before surgery. The virus is designed to attack cancer cells and alert the patient's own immune system. Researchers wanted to see if this combination could completely eliminate the tumor in more women with a hard-to-treat type of breast cancer.
