Dye-Free colonoscopy tested for better IBD cancer checks

NCT ID NCT07089771

Summary

This study is comparing two advanced camera techniques used during routine colon cancer screening for people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). One method uses a special dye sprayed in the colon, while the newer method uses special camera light filters without any dye. Researchers want to see if the dye-free method is just as good at finding early pre-cancerous changes. About 480 adults with long-standing IBD will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods during their regular screening colonoscopy.
