VR headsets aim to cure doctor bias in new hospital study
NCT ID NCT07283523
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether watching virtual reality (VR) videos can reduce weight-based bias in doctors-in-training. About 52 resident physicians at Brigham and Women's Hospital will take bias tests before and after watching either a VR experience of patient encounters or a neutral educational video. The goal is to see if VR can be an acceptable tool to help doctors become more aware of their unconscious biases.
