VR adventure could spare kids from anesthesia during MRI

NCT ID NCT06132854

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a virtual reality (VR) simulation of an MRI scan can help children aged 4-18 stay calm enough to complete the real scan without anesthesia. About 288 children will be randomly assigned to VR preparation, a booklet, or usual care. The main goal is to see if fewer kids need anesthesia when they use VR.
