First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether watching a virtual reality video before abdominal surgery could reduce anxiety. 96 adult patients scheduled for elective surgery were randomly assigned to watch a VR video or a plain video. Their anxiety and stress levels were measured using a questionnaire and a smart bracelet. The goal was to see if VR distraction helps patients feel calmer before going into the operating room.
