Virtual reality goggles could replace opioids during leg surgery

Summary

This study tests whether using a virtual reality headset during a leg artery procedure can lower pain and anxiety. Ninety adults with peripheral artery disease will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus VR. The goal is to see if VR can reduce the need for strong painkillers and make the experience more comfortable.
