AI 'Virtual Biopsy' could spare brain tumor patients from surgery
NCT ID NCT04313140
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether artificial intelligence can accurately determine the grade of a brain tumor (glioma) using MRI scans alone, without needing an invasive surgical biopsy. Researchers will compare the AI's results to traditional biopsy findings in 500 adults with suspected glioma. If successful, this virtual biopsy could speed up diagnosis and guide treatment decisions more safely.
