Video visits aim to smooth rocky road home for cancer patients
NCT ID NCT05142345
Summary
This study tested whether a video visit with a cancer nurse practitioner a few days after leaving the hospital helps patients with advanced cancer. The goal was to see if this extra support made patients feel more confident managing their health, improved communication with their care team, and reduced symptoms and hospital readmissions. About 286 patients were randomly assigned to receive either this video visit program or standard follow-up care.
