Scientists test video game as quick fix for anxiety and depression

NCT ID NCT07272096

Summary

This study tested whether a single one-hour session of a specially designed therapy video game could improve mental health. Researchers compared the game, based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to a regular neutral game in 302 adults with mild to moderate depression, anxiety, or stress. They measured changes in symptoms, wellbeing, and a heart rate reading immediately after playing and again about 10 days later.
