NCT ID NCT06759376

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a 10-minute vibration massage or a 10-minute static stretching exercise could reduce muscle cramps and stress in people undergoing hemodialysis. Thirty adults with chronic kidney disease who experienced leg cramps during dialysis were randomly assigned to one of three groups: vibration massage, stretching, or usual care. Researchers measured cramp severity, cramp duration, and stress levels using a saliva test for cortisol. The goal was to find a simple, drug-free way to manage a common and painful side effect of dialysis.
