First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether veverimer, a drug that lowers acid levels in the body, can reduce bone breakdown in adults aged 50 and older with osteopenia (low bone density). Sixty participants will take either veverimer or a placebo daily or every other day for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in bone resorption and formation, as well as safety, to find the best dose.
