Doctors test if simple ventilator tweaks can ease patient breathing strain

NCT ID NCT07437846

Summary

This study aims to understand how adjusting a specific pressure setting on a breathing machine (ventilator) affects how hard a patient's own breathing muscles have to work. Researchers will test four different pressure levels in 12 adult patients who are stable but need ventilator support. The goal is to gather information that could help doctors set ventilators more effectively to protect patients' lungs and breathing muscles.
