First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to treat gum disease that may cause less tooth sensitivity. 40 adults with advanced gum disease had half their mouth treated with a standard tool and the other half with an ultrasonic tool that uses hydroxyapatite (a natural tooth mineral). The goal was to see if the new tool reduces pain and still keeps gums healthy over 6 months.
