Artery scans could spot hidden depression in stomach patients
NCT ID NCT07319338
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at whether routine blood vessel tests can help identify depression in adults with chronic atrophic gastritis, a long-term stomach condition. Many patients with this condition have undiagnosed depression, partly because of stigma around mental health questionnaires. The study will enroll about 520 adults in China and use artery stiffness measurements as an objective way to flag those who may need mental health support. It aims to see if this approach works better than current methods and is practical for everyday hospital use.
