Remote trial tests common Quit-Smoking drug for dual addiction

Summary
This study is testing whether varenicline (Chantix), a medication approved for quitting smoking, can also help people reduce or stop using cannabis. Researchers will compare the medication against a placebo pill in 200 adults in South Carolina who use both cigarettes and marijuana regularly. All participants will receive remote counseling and online support while trying to quit cigarettes and cut back on cannabis use over 12 weeks.
