Scientists probe the Body's 'Superhighway' in brain disorder patients

NCT ID NCT06143293

Summary

This study aims to understand how stimulating the vagus nerve affects the body's automatic functions like heart rate, blood pressure, and inflammation. Researchers will measure these effects in 144 adults who already have or will receive a vagus nerve stimulator for drug-resistant epilepsy or major depression. The goal is to gather scientific knowledge; it is not a treatment trial, and participants will continue their standard medical care.
