Zap the nerve, ease the pain? new trial tests gentle stimulation for diabetic suffering

NCT ID NCT07405021

Summary

This study is testing if a non-drug treatment called transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS) can help people with painful diabetic neuropathy. Researchers will give 40 participants gentle electrical stimulation through the skin on the ear to see if it reduces their pain, improves nerve function, and helps with daily activities. The goal is to find a new, potentially side-effect-free option for managing this common and debilitating complication of diabetes.
