NCT ID NCT05313555

First seen May 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether ultraviolet (UV-C) light can safely sanitize hands without the need for chemical sanitizers. Twenty-three healthy volunteers with light skin received UV-C or UV-B exposure, and small skin samples were taken to check for DNA damage. The trial was stopped early, and the main goal was to see if the UV treatment caused any harm at the cellular level.
