First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study involves 330 adults who visit the emergency department with a suspected urinary tract infection and are sent home with or without antibiotics. Doctors will review the initial antibiotic prescription and adjust it based on urine culture results to see if they can use fewer broad-spectrum antibiotics like fluoroquinolones and third-generation cephalosporins. The goal is to improve antibiotic use and reduce side effects.
