New study offers hope for Uterus-Saving treatment in dangerous pregnancy condition
NCT ID NCT06512181
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a gentler approach for pregnant women with placenta accreta, a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus. Instead of the standard treatment of removing the uterus (hysterectomy) after delivering the baby, doctors will leave the placenta in place and monitor the mother closely. The goal is to see if this approach can safely preserve the uterus and avoid major surgery. Fifteen women who want to keep their uterus will be enrolled and followed until the placenta is gone.
