New stitch may cut blood loss in dangerous pregnancy condition
NCT ID NCT07519993
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a special stitch (Hayman suture) to a standard surgery (Kasr Al-Ainy technique) can reduce blood loss during delivery for women with placenta accreta, a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus. About 48 women aged 18-40 with this condition will be randomly assigned to receive the standard surgery with or without the extra stitch. The main goal is to see if the stitch helps control bleeding during the operation.
