Could your texts help your therapist help you?
NCT ID NCT03712267
Summary
This study tested if sharing and discussing a patient's text messages, emails, and social media chats with their therapist could improve mental health treatment. 110 adults in therapy for anxiety or depression were randomly assigned to either have their electronic communications shared with their therapist or to continue with standard therapy. Researchers measured if this approach improved patients' quality of life, reduced symptoms, and strengthened their relationship with their therapist.
