Urine test may replace colonoscopy for colitis patients

This study looks at whether a substance in urine, called PGE-MUM, can show if ulcerative colitis is active or in remission. Researchers will collect urine and blood samples from 114 adults with confirmed ulcerative colitis and compare the results with colonoscopy findings. If successful, this could offer a simple, non-invasive way to monitor the disease without frequent colonoscopies.
