Pee power: urine bacteria may predict melanoma treatment success

NCT ID NCT07635732

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether the bacteria naturally found in urine can help doctors better understand melanoma, a serious skin cancer, and predict how well patients will respond to treatment. Researchers will collect urine and stool samples from 50 people with advanced melanoma starting therapy, plus samples from healthy volunteers for comparison. The study does not change any medical treatment—it simply analyzes samples and questionnaires to find bacterial patterns linked to better outcomes.
