First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 12-week upper arm aerobic exercise program can reduce arterial stiffness in women who have had breast cancer. Arterial stiffness is a side effect of some cancer treatments and can increase heart risk. The trial will enroll 18 women and measure changes in blood vessel health using a noninvasive device.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Upper extremity aerobic exercise training program

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a simple exercise program to improve heart health in breast cancer survivors.

What could go wrong

This is a very small early study with only 18 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise may not significantly change arterial stiffness.
