First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive technique called transauricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) in 44 healthy adults. Participants received a gentle electrical pulse to the ear for 60 minutes to see how it changes brain activity and the body's ability to handle pain. The goal was to understand the basic science behind this method, not to treat any disease.
